Alex and Dom's Christmas Wedding with Taylormade Live Wedding Band:

We met Alex and Dominic over 2 years ago when they came to see us performing live as Taylormade Acoustic Duo at a public performance in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. They booked us on the spot! It was finally our time to perform for them and their guests at the gorgeous Dunchurch Park Hotel in Rugby on 23rd December 2014.

We have performed at Dunchurch Park Hotel many times yet never at Christmas time so it was lovely to see the venue lit up for Christmas and sparkling with a huge Christmas Tree right next to the stage! We were performing in the beautiful 'Grand Hall' so there was plenty of room for dancing the night away!

Alex and Dom chose our 4 Piece Live Wedding Band and DJ option for their evening entertainment. Upon arrival around 5.45pm we could see what a great evening it would be with the venue looking really great! Once we set up our equipment and after a swift soundcheck, we kicked off our set with 'Valerie' by Amy Winehouse, instantly getting everyone on the floor! We played a set especially chosen by Alex and Dom which included firm favourites like 'Breakfast At Tiffany's', 'Just Dance' 'Mamma Mia' and ending the set with the Dolly Parton classic '9 to 5' which is always a winner with all the ladies on the dance floor!

Unbeknown to the guests, Alex and Dom had arranged some beautiful fireworks outside between the band sets and led everyone out into the cold but thankfully dry night, telling them it was a twilight photo opportunity. Guests were then delighted when the sky lit up with a gorgeous array of colours! This is definitely one of the perks of our job, we get to watch amazing fireworks all year round!

After guests had tucked into the hog roast, the dancing and festive frolics were resumed when we started the second set with Alex and Dom's request of 'All I Want For Christmas' by Mariah Carey. As a firm festive favourite the guests rushed onto the dance floor and I couldn't have asked for a better backing choir as everyone sang at the top of their voices!

We kept the rest of the set lively with great tracks from Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk, Queen and Kings Of Leon finally finishing the set with quite possibly the best air guitar I have ever seen along to 'Summer of 69' by Bryan Adams bringing the set to a brilliant close.

We continued for the final hour with our DJ set, playing a fantastic mix of party tracks and festive favourites bringing the night to a climax at midnight with 'I've Had The Time Of My Life' from Dirty Dancing!

We’d like to wish Alex and Dominic the very best for their lives together. Thank you both so much for having us entertain you all on your special day.

TIPS FOR THE BIG DAY

Here are a few thoughts that may help Brides & Grooms planning their Wedding. Our 4 piece live wedding band fitted in with Alex and Domininc's Wedding perfectly, with a venue that had lots of room for dancing and we worked with Alex and Dom on the lead up to their day to give them advice on how to make the most of our part in their special day.

It's important if you are having an evening buffet/hog roast that you time it in between the live band sets. This means your guests can relax more and chat whilst eating the evening food (during which we play background music) and it also means the band do not come on to a second set where everyone is queueing up for the buffet!

Taking our advice into account, Alex and Dominic planned their food straight after the fireworks which meant there was a 30 minute gap between the food coming out and the band starting again. This meant everyone had finished their food and all the guests rushed onto the dance floor when the set started giving the evening entertainment a real impact!

As mentioned above, Alex and Dominic gave us an idea of the types of tracks/artists they enjoy, which meant we were able to tailor our song choices to them whist still throwing in some tried and tested classics. We kept in mind their tastes and ages of the group and this kept the dance floor busy throughout the night.

Finally, our DJ set took the evening through to until midnight and once again Alex and Dom supplied us with the artists/genres they like, making the day so much more personal to them. As always we also took some requests from family and friends on the night.

We really hope these tips will give you some ideas how we can add a brilliant touch to your day and give you some points to consider when choosing your Wedding Entertainment, Live Wedding Band or venue.
