Your Ceremony: The Courtyard Barn
The Courtyard Barn is the perfect setting for your Ceremony at Dodmoor House. With exposed rafters and a pallet feature wall, it looks absolutely gorgeous. You'll also want the barn to have a beautiful atmosphere that ‘wows’ your guests when they arrive, and this is where our Acoustic Duo really shines. Our unique, stripped-back acoustic style adds to the atmosphere and brings that spark that only live music can bring.
We set up quickly and discreetly prior to guests arrival, usually at the back of the barn by the clock (see photo), and begin by performing a 10-minute set as your guests take their seats ready for the ceremony to start. This always strikes a beautiful tone for the day.
When everyone is seated and ready to go, the registrar or one of the team at Dodmoor will give us the nod and we will start performing our beautiful version of your bridal entrance song. Having this performed live by Taylormade adds to the emotion and anticipation, and is always a breathtaking moment as you leave the Honeymoon Suite and make your way across the flagstones to your waiting fiancé.

A lovely thing to mention about Dodmoor is that the walk from the Honeymoon Suite, through the courtyard to the Courtyard Barn is the perfect distance to ensure that we are able to perform the majority of your chosen song. This builds the anticipation so that by the time you reach the top of the aisle, the song will be in full flow, helping to create another timeless memory. The registrar will then give us a final nod and we'll find the perfect place to gently end the song.
Then, when it's time to sign the register, that's our cue to perform up to 3 songs, depending on how many shots the photographer and your guests would like to take. These songs keep your guests entertained whilst you sign the register and continue to build the anticipation for that special moment when you will walk back down the aisle as husband and wife.
When the signing of the register is complete, we’ll hear those great words "please be upstanding for the brand new Mr and Mrs ..." . This is our cue to start your chosen exit song! No doubt this will be accompanied by raucous applause and whistling from your closest family and friends as you walk back down the aisle as husband and wife!
Your Drinks Reception - The Courtyard or Lawn
The ceremony will be complete and you'll head out into the beautiful courtyard for a glass of champagne and have photos taken for the confetti throw on the courtyard steps.
The drinks reception is a time for catch-ups and celebration so we'll usually perform some fun, feel-good tracks to get toes tapping yet remain relaxed enough to keep the conversation flowing freely.
If you'd like to head on down to the lawn for some lovely garden games and a spot of croquet, or if you'd prefer to chat and mingle amongst friends and family in the beautiful courtyard, then at Dodmoor you really are spoiled for choice.
Taylormade can set up under the beautiful old oak tree on the lawn (see photo) or underneath the arbour in the courtyard (see other photo) and provide the perfect drinks reception soundtrack. If the weather is a little unsettled, then we can also remain in our original position adding a stunning soundtrack to the Courtyard Barn.

Early Evening - The Courtyard
After the wedding breakfast is finished and speeches are completed to a roaring success then it's time for everyone to stretch their legs and head outside for some fresh air. During this time Taylormade can perform an early evening set in the beautiful and romantic courtyard.
Live music filtering out into the evening air as the sun goes down can be really magical and add a breathtaking atmosphere.
Surrounded by fairy lights and candles there's no better way to welcome your evening guests to Dodmoor and get everyone warmed up for the evening party.

Evening reception: The Catesby Barn
With beautiful wooden beams and romantic Juliet balcony, the gorgeous Catesby Barn is where the action happens at night! As well as 2 x 60-minute sets with our Live Band, we can also offer our fantastic DJ service until midnight, giving a variety of music and flow to the evening. Our 4 Piece Live Band fit perfectly at the far end of the barn leaving plenty of room for you and your guests to dance the night away (see photo). We create an effective and classy lighting effect and can ansi set our uplighters to your desired colour theme.
We always start the evening with a live performance of your First Dance performed by our Acoustic Duo, usually at around 8.00pm. These first steps as husband and wife, whether embraced in a shuffle or as a fully choreographed routine!) will bring goosebumps to your friends and family who will be gathered on the oak dance floor. As soon as the First Dance ends it's time to get your dancing shoes on and party the night away with our first 60-minute set!
We take a 60-minute break at around 9.00pm but the music continues with our DJ set. This is a great time for you to have your evening food and once everyone has eaten and refilled their glasses the second set will begin at 10.00pm.

As the band returns for the second set, why not toss that bouquet!? As you head up to the gorgeous Juliet balcony, we'll encourage all the single ladies on to the dance floor below and give a countdown ready for you to throw that beautiful bouquet into the crowd.
At 11.00pm (in line with Dodmoor's live music policy), we’ll switch to the final DJ set, keeping the party going until midnight with your favourite songs and requests from guests. When the very last song ends you could head out into a stunning sparkler arch in the courtyard…

Good To Know:
You may know that Dodmoor House has a sound limiter in the Catesby Barn, set to 94dB and live acts are required to use an electric drum kit in order to perform at night. Let us reassure you of 2 things:
1) 94dB is pretty loud! It’s a good volume for a wedding and we can create a fantastic party atmosphere.
2) This may pose a problem for some bands, however it’s absolutely no problem for Taylormade! We have performed many times with our electric drum kit producing a great sound.
For the techie-minds, we have invested in a digital mixing desk that we have programmed to a specific Dodmoor House mix, ensuring that every single time we perform at Dodmoor we have the best possible sound and are able to keep our levels within the 94dB. This, along with our incredible setlist of classic hits and modern-day favourites, means the Catesby Barn is bound to be packed out all night long.
