The night that Taylormade Live Band helped to change lives!

On 11th March 2017, the joint Macmillan Cancer Care Committees of Wellingborough, Rushden and Northampton came together for the Macmillan County Charity Ball at the beautiful Edwardian Pavilion at Wicksteed Park in Northamptonshire - the first event of it's kind for Macmillan anywhere in the UK.

Together the committees created this wonderful evening with the hope of raising thousands of pounds for this fantastic and most worthy of causes, and to highlight the incredible work this charity does.

The committee had originally contacted Taylormade Live Band back in September 2016 and were keen to see us live before they booked...something we strongly recommend and actively encourage all potential clients do.

Six committee members came along to our October showcase to see the 4 Piece Live Band in action, and were so impressed that they had confirmed within 24 hours that they wanted us to be their live band on the night!

We were incredibly excited and honoured to have been booked to play this prestigious event and during the week leading up to the ball, we received confirmation that tickets for the event were completely sold out! This meant that Taylormade would have an audience of around 350 people, including the Lord Mayor, ready to party and shake their moves on the dance floor....and we were only too happy to oblige!

The evening started with a glass of bubbles to bring a little sparkle to the occasion, and the gala dinner was a sumptuous four course meal incorporating local and seasonal ingredients.

A talented young four piece jazz band from the local school played some beautiful instrumental numbers as guests dined, which really added to the atmosphere. Behind them was the backdrop of our brand new TaylorMade drum skin, taking centre stage to build the intrigue and anticipation for our sets later on in the evening!

Leading up to the ball, guests had been encouraged to take part in a 'Silent Auction' with incredible items available to the highest bidder. Guests could bid on a flight to the Shetland Isles to see the Northern Lights, a 24 hour stay on the private island 'No Man's Fort' and a VIP day trip to Monaco to see the F1 Grand Prix, amongst others.

All of the proceeds from the evening would be going to Macmillan Cancer Care in Northamptonshire, keeping the funds in the county to support local services.

Once the desserts and coffee were finished it was time for Taylormade to take centre stage! The committee had requested 3 x 40 minute sets instead of the usual 2 x 60s, so that guests could catch their breath a little, refill their glasses or keep on dancing to the DJ during our breaks.

We played a brilliant selection of classics and a few modern day tracks for good measure and even debuted three new tracks on the night - 'Can't Stop The Feeling' by Justin Timberlake, 'Cake By The Ocean ' by DNCE and 'Dancing On The Ceiling' by Lionel Richie, all of which went down a storm!

As you can see from the photos the dance floor was packed throughout the evening and even the 'Taylormade Tambourine' had an incredible time!

We have just found out that the grand total raised on the night was a massive £27,500! Thank you so much to everyone who attended, donated and bid on the auction items...this money will change lives.

Also we'd like to say a huge thanks to Damian at 'Big Bopper Entertainment' for the great photos and support on the night!
