Here's a lovely shot of the Taylormade 4 Piece Live Band set up at Michelle and Paul Nicoll's Wedding in the Cellar Bar at Kilworth House in Leicestershire on Saturday night (15th April 2017).

Those of you with a keen eye will see that we chose the electric drum kit for this performance. The reason for this is that the Cellar Bar is really cozy with beautiful exposed stone and low ceilings. This makes it a wonderful, atmospheric venue but can cause problem with the sound for inexperienced bands.

Here at Taylormade we've been professional musicians since 2008 and have performed at hundreds of Weddings and Events across Northamptonshire, and the whole of the UK. We've played in Barns, Churches, Glass Houses, Cellars, Orangeries and Chapels just to name a few!

Each of them have different acoustics so it's extremely important to have the option of an electric drum kit. Why, I hear you say? Well, if a room has low ceilings, maybe a lot of glass, perhaps lots of stone work or maybe even just not many soft furnishings, then there is nowhere for the sound to be absorbed. This means the sound bounces around, essentially creating a wall of noise and therefore there is no clarity to the performance. With an electric drum kit the sound is pushed towards the dance floor through the PA system, rather than bouncing around the room as it would with an acoustic drum kit.

Every Wedding Band should be able to offer you the choice of acoustic or electric kit because an acoustic drum kit does not suit every single wedding venue! If you're not sure whether to have the electric or acoustic drum kit at your wedding or event, please get in touch. Give me a call on 07976 096 347, email me on hello@taylormadeliveband.co.uk or contact us through the website. We can chat through the details and decide on the best option for your special day!
